The Rural Municipality of Lake Johnston No. 102 (2021 Census population: 140) is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Located in the southwest part of the province (between Moose Jaw and Assiniboia along Hwy 2), it encompasses Townships 10,11, and 12 and Ranges 28, 29, and 30 (all west of the 2nd Meridian). RM 102 was incorporated on December 9, 1912.
The Town of Mossbank (2021 Census population: 368) is located in the north-west part of RM 102. The Town features amenities such as a hockey rink, a curling rink, ball diamonds, a swimming pool, and tennis courts. In addition, the Town hosts a child daycare, a Post Office, a Library, a golf course, the 50+ Club, a quilting club, Skates & Skirts retail shop, the Mossbank Bar & Grill, a Co-op gas station, and the Faith & Furrows retirement home. The Town of Mossbank is seeking to grow and currently has serviced building lots for sale.
A significant feature of RM 102 is Old Wives Lake and its migratory bird sanctuary which draws tourists each year. An historic feature of the area is the old British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) base located just outside of Mossbank. Each year in July, the area celebrates all it has to offer with the Old Wives Lake Festival.
